Honey is great in cooking. You can replace honey for sugar in most recipes. Since honey is sweeter than sugar, you will need to reduce the amount called for in the recipe by about one-third. Honey is part water so you will need to reduce the liquid called for in the recipe by one-fifth. Honey browns quickly in the oven so reduce the ovens temperature by 25 degrees. Honey helps to keep baked goods fresh longer because it retains moisture.
In a large bowl wisk together honey, milk, eggs, cinnamon and salt. Dip bread slices in egg mixture to coat. Brown soaked slices in butter over medium heat. Serve with honey and sprinkle with pecans.
Mix the mayonnaise, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, honey, and lemon juice together in a bowl. Cover and chill in refrigerator overnight.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Using a paring knife, remove the cores and trim the bottom of each apple, so they sit flat. Place the apples in an ovenproof skillet or 8- to 9-inch baking dish. Fill each apple with walnut, honey and cinnamon mixture. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until apples are tender. If filling begins to blacken, cover the apples with foil and continue cooking. Serve apples with a scoop of vanilla ice cream alongside.
